I qualified as a registered nurse in 2000. I started my career working on an Acute Medical Unit, the pace of work was busy, but this taught me the importance of a good team and gave me an invaluable knowledge base for my coming years.

I moved into working in the Emergency Department after having my children in 2009, here I moved up the ladder to performing in a Clinical Sister Role, and this was where I became a Practitioner.

I qualified as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner in 2011. I remained in the Emergency Department for ten years, which were undoubtedly the most challenging yet rewarding years of my career. This experience developed my clinical decision making, resilience and leadership skills in a fast-paced environment.

In 2020 I joined the Northeast Ambulance Service as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner. During this role I qualified as a non-medical prescriber and gained invaluable insight into primary care.

In 2024 I joined Durham Dales Health Federation as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, a was appointed into a team lead role in 2025, and during a recent restructure have been offered a role as Clinical General Manager.

I am proud of the career I have built and look forward to being a part of the future of Durham Dales Health Federation.
