100 Skips a Day Challenge for Cancer Research UK!
Jade, Helen, Sue, Anna and Deb took part in the skipping challenge and between them raised £855 so well done to all, have a good rest before the next challenge.

BHAWA – Step Challenge
The April campaign is encouraging everyone to increase their physical activity. We have a step challenge running for the next couple of weeks. Please sign up via the display board in the meeting room. There may be some prizes up for grabs! If you would like a free pedometer, please speak to Adam Barrett.

BHAWA – Alcohol Quiz
Test your knowledge on the alcohol quiz! Around 1 in 5 of us say that we drink above the recommended low-risk drinking guidelines of 14 units a week!

Spring COVID Booster Campaign
The 2024 Spring COVID Boosters will commence in care homes on Monday 15th April! For those involved in the vaccination campaign please ensure all training is up to date.

Goodbyes

Earth Day – Monday 22nd April
Earth Day is a global event which aims to highlight the importance of protecting Earth’s natural resources for future generations. DDHF is taking part in the Green Impact Award to promote sustainability and being more green! For more information about Earth Day please see visit here.

Policies and SOPS
Watch out for new policies which are about to be issued on Teamnet and ensure you read and acknowledge them. Policies which have been reviewed in the past month are awaiting discussion in your team meetings are Lone Worker, Records Management, Sickness Absence, Confidentiality, Medicines Management and Consent.

BHAWA – Step Challenge
The April campaign is encouraging everyone to increase their physical activity. We are in week 1 of the step challenge.
Kathryn Ford has kindly done a pre recorded 30 minute beginners pilates class which can be found here: 30 Minute Beginners Pilates
Next week we will be distributing origami fortune tellers with physical activity challenges.

North East and North Cumbria ICB Staff Wellbeing HUB
The Staff Wellbeing Hub that was set up during the response to Covid-19 which provides wellbeing support to health and care workers in the North East and North Cumbria is to continue. The hub is an easily accessible, free, and confidential service that provides support to those working in primary and secondary healthcare, social care, and the voluntary and community sector. You can find out more about the hub on the ICB website. In addition to local wellbeing and support services within individual organisations, there is also a range of other national health and wellbeing support offers accessed via the NHS website. It is crucial to take care of our wellbeing and that of everyone around us!

Last day of the steps challenge is Sunday 28th April. Please submit steps by close of play Monday 29th April. The sheet for recording steps completed will be available in the meeting room on Monday. There may be some prizes up for grabs!

Job Vacancies
There is a job post for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner: Job Advert (jobs.nhs.uk). Furthermore, there is also an opening for a Health and Wellbeing Coach for Bishop Auckland: Job Advert (jobs.nhs.uk). All vacancies will close on the 3rd May 2024.

Spring COVID Booster Campaign
The spring covid booster campaign has continued this week. We have delivered a total of 269 vaccinations in care homes as of yesterday!
