We are pleased to share that DDHF has been awarded the Better Health at Work ‘Bronze’ award.

The ‘Better Health at Work Award’ (BHAWA) recognises the efforts of employers in the North East and Cumbria in addressing health issues within the workplace. The awards recognise the achievements of these organisations and help us to move forward in a structured and supported way, ensuring that we take a holistic and comprehensive approach to all matters of health and wellbeing.

The award has involved several campaigns (which you can find on our website https://ddhf.co.uk/better-health-work/) firstly during summer promoting and dealing with Stress and Work-Life Balance, a Physical Activity campaign which included lunchtime walks, steps challenges and “Wake up Shape up” exercises for all the staff during early morning briefs as well as a Healthy Eating Campaign in Autumn with food quizzes and non-alcoholic health “shots”.

The award bid was submitted in November and was approved and awarded in December by the Better Health assessors.

The Better Health Advocates are gearing up ready to put together more campaigns to work towards the Silver Award in 2024.
